Love Button Discography
Eat More Fruit
2013--These songs were written from '94 to '97. An attempt to record a full album was done in Thomas' living room in 2003, but we didn't like what we got and scrapped most of it. Then, in 2008, we recorded at Dan's house in Austin, Texas. Finally, after performing the songs for our fans for over 15 years, we released in June of 2013.
The album is free to download at Reverbnation.com, but if you must have a hard copy, you can purchase it at CDBaby.com.
17 Cleverly Disguised Songs About Smack
1995--Our first CD, released by the ever-growing Nub Records, in his new 32-track digital studio. Artwork done by Chad Burrow. A special thanks to all those who gave us money to release this CD. You can listen to and download this album for free at NubRecords.com.
Stigmatogobius
1994--Substituting our clean sound for a more effects-driven, experimental sound, this was our first professional release, recorded with Corey with his new 16-track reel-to-reel studio. The full-length cassette featured 19 songs, with artwork done by Chad Burrow.
You can listen to and download it for free at NubRecords.com.
Love Button (The White Album)
1993--Our first recording with Corey Roberts of Nub Records. Recorded on 4-track reel-to-reel and mastered down to HQ video cassette. We dubbed the EP audio cassettes ourselves. The artwork was done by Chad Burrow, giving birth to the "Buttonhead" signature logo.
You can listen to and download the album for free at NubRecords.com.
M.S.I. Record Sampler:
Porn Soundtrack for an
Old Ladies' Camode
1992--Recorded on 4-track cassette, this is a DIY, local-compilation tape made by Adrian. This was the very beginning of Love Button, with Dan & Adrian only. Evan appears elsewhere on the tape with his bands Gold Thread and Simply Red & Slim. This tape is rare and unavailable for purchase.
The First & The Last
2002--A combination of the "White EP" and a 1997 demo recorded by Carl Amburn at Bell Labs in Norman, released on CD through Mp3.com. These tracks originally came from old cassette and put through noise reduction years ago, so the sound is flangey. Here are the mp3s from "The Last":
Other Love Button Recordings
Insomnia
1994--Recorded at Alien Studio in Norman on 8-track reel-to-reel, 2 of these 3 songs were part of a split 7-inch single by Fantastick Records. These recordings were encouraged and paid for during our brief relationship with Flaming Lips manager, Scott Booker.
Insomnia / She Said / Don't Cry
Don't Breathe on Me
1992--After only playing together for a couple of months, our friend Sky(RIP) was so impressed with us, he paid for us to record at Carumbo Studio in Norman, 16-track reel-to-reel. The truth was, we were too green, as Dan was literally (title), and it was rough, so we decided not to release it. Our sound and Dan's songwriting started to change after that initial period. For your listening pleasure, here are a few that weren't so bad:
